Therapeutic Approaches in Casework: A Comparative Analytical Study of Traditional and Modern Trends

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and evaluate traditional and modern therapeutic approaches in the practice of casework as one of the methods of social work. The study relies on the historical and descriptive-analytical approach to trace the development of these approaches and their effectiveness in addressing individual problems. The study is divided into four main sections: the first addresses the concept and historical evolution of casework, the second focuses on traditional theories such as psychosocial therapy and role theory, the third reviews modern theories such as family therapy and reality therapy, while the fourth section is devoted to contemporary field approaches. The study concludes that integrating traditional and modern approaches can enhance the professional practice of social workers, emphasizing the importance of flexibility in selecting the appropriate therapeutic method based on the nature of the problem and the client's specifics.

The Feasibility of Using the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) in Libyan Commercial Banks

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of implementing the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) as a performance measurement and evaluation tool in Libyan commercial banks. The research adopted an inductive approach to review relevant literature and an analytical approach for a field study that included questionnaires and interviews with accounting department managers in several Libyan banks. The results indicated the feasibility of using all four dimensions of the BSC (financial, customer, internal processes, learning and growth) in evaluating bank performance, with a greater emphasis on the internal processes dimension. No significant obstacles to implementation were identified. The study recommends the formal adoption of the BSC to enhance strategic performance, with a focus on the customer dimension to boost revenues and profits.

Issue Correspondence: Classical Arabic Poetry and the Literary Image

This paper explores the relationship between classical Arabic poetry (al-shiʿr al-ʿamūdī) and the literary image. Classical poetry is defined as verse adhering to meter and rhyme according to the principles of ʿarūḍ (prosody). The study examines the nature of the literary image and its formation in classical poetry, emphasizing the role of imagination, emotion, and language in constructing this image. It also discusses types of imagination (creative, combinative, interpretive) and their impact on shaping the poetic image. The paper concludes that the literary image in classical poetry relies on a balance between form and content, and that imagination plays a central role in conveying emotion and meaning to the audience.

Book Review: Tadbīr with Writing the Quantities

This paper analyzes the book "At-Tanweer fi Isqat At-Tadbir" by Imam Ahmed ibn Ata Allah Al-Sakandari, which focuses on the concept of reliance on God (Tawakkul) and abandoning human management in matters of sustenance and destiny. The book explains how a Muslim can reach a state of contentment and submission to God's decree, drawing on Quranic verses, prophetic traditions, and Sufi teachings. It also discusses the nine stations of certainty (maqamat al-yaqeen) such as repentance, asceticism, patience, and gratitude, which cannot be completed without surrendering management and choice to God. This work is considered rare and valuable in its field, offering deep insights into Islamic mysticism and spiritual ethics.
