Book Review: Approaches in the Sociology of KnowledgeAbstract This presentation introduces the book "Approaches in the Sociology of Knowledge" by Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Duwaibi, published in 2021. The book attempts to analyze the social and referential dimensions of knowledge in the era of globalization and digital knowledge, or the so-called "infomedia age." The book discusses how the sociology of knowledge studies the production, acquisition, and digital development of knowledge within the system of social life, using various sociological methodologies and theories (such as functionalism, role theory, and interactionism). The book addresses the problematics of defining this science and its subject, focusing on the transformations of the digital knowledge society and its profound impacts on traditional institutions like education and the economy. The book highlights the importance of knowledge as an engine for development and societal competitiveness, pointing out the risks faced by societies that cannot keep pace with these rapid transformations in the production and circulation of knowledge.
